Vehicle Storage
Vehicle storage is an asset to many, especially in areas where there is not enough space to park extra vehicles, boats, or an RV on your property. In most areas, this would be a violation of your residential HOA (Home Owners Association). Thus, at Shield Storage, we provide covered and uncovered vehicle storage and parking spaces at several our locations nationwide.
What Types of Vehicle Storage are Available?
- Covered vehicle storage includes all spaces that are covered by an awning of some kind to protect your vehicle from sun damage.
- Uncovered vehicle storage includes all spaces that do not have any type of covering provided. These are optimal for larger vehicles such as large boats, RVs, and trailers.
- You can also store your vehicle in some of the larger enclosed units that can be found at some of our locations.
What Should You Consider When Looking for Vehicle Storage?
There are many things to consider when trying to decide where to store your vehicle.
Here are some of the common items our customers take into consideration while making their decision about the best storage solution for their vehicle.
Finding a storage facility that is safe and secure should be one of your top priorities.
You want to find a self storage location that offers security features such as digital security surveillance to keep a watchful eye over your vehicle and the property.
You should also only park your vehicle at locations that are fully enclosed and have controlled gate access.
At Shield Storage, we make the safety and security of your vehicle one of our highest priorities. We do our best to ensure that our facilities provide security options that will give you peace of mind while utilizing one of our storage units or spaces.
Having the ability to access your vehicle is important. Therefore, it is important to consider the access hours of any storage location you choose.
If you are utilizing a storage unit or space for a work vehicle, you will want to be aware of your ability to access your vehicle before and after work.
For some, this could make a large impact on where you choose to store your work vehicle
In some areas of the country, the harsh weather conditions can impact your vehicle and, in some cases, even cause damage.
Whether it’s the harsh heat in the southwest or the cold, wet weather in the northwest, you want to make sure that your vehicle can withstand the harsh conditions.
It is important to take the weather conditions of the area you live into consideration when choosing the best storage solution for your vehicle.
We do offer larger enough storage units at some of the Shield Storage locations to store your boat or other vehicle inside a storage unit for safe keeping. This may be something to think about to ensure your boat, for example, isn’t outside during the harsh winter months.
What Types of Vehicle Storage are There?
There are a few different types of vehicle storage available depending on the Shield Storage location you choose. These types of storage include:
Indoor/Enclosed Storage
Did you know that you can park certain vehicles inside an enclosed storage unit? It’s true! Some smaller vehicles can fit into a storage unit as small as a 5×10 while larger vehicles can fit into units that are 10×20 or larger.
If you are interested in having your vehicle stored in an enclosed self storage unit, feel free to contact us today for information about what size unit would best fit your needs.

These storage spaces are also helpful for parking boats, trailers, and other vehicles.
Since these spaces are uncovered, be sure to bring your vehicle cover when necessary to cover your boat, car, or truck to prevent damage from the weather and other elements.
